Tesco & Sainsburys selling live Mussels

Tesco have been found to be selling live mussels in little prepared packages at some of their stores and are advocating microwaving them for several minutes.  Shellfish Network have already written to Sir Terry Leahy with scientific arguments that mussels are capable of feeling pain and stress and his reply to one of our members is interesting.  In fact, up until sales, great care is taken of the mussels.  However, he does state that they probably die within 4-5 minutes of cooking.  If anyone would like to contact him (or their local store if they are selling the mussels) and politely ask that they no longer sell live animals to the public the address for Head Office is:
Sir Terry Leahy, Chief executive, Tesco PLC, Tesco House, Delamare Road, Cheshunt, Herts  EN8 9SL or e-mail them.

Sainsbury sell live mussels but simply give 'instructions' for killing with the package.  They don't seem to mention microwaving.  I have written to their Head Office but had no reply.  Polite letters please to:
Customer Relations, Sainsbury Head Office, 33, Holborn, London  EC1N 2HT. Tel: 0800 636 262
